Patio Construction Now, let’s run through how you can go about your patio construction in a sequence; With your tape measure or with your hose (improvising), draw out where you want your patio to be. Follow up on this by excavating the top soil around the area to about some depth of about 6 inches.

With your wheelbarrow, transport the soil removed to somewhere they would find need for it. It is time to add the gravel on the area. Do so and use the plate compactor to smoothen or level up the surface. The grave should not be more than about 5 inches deep.

Add about 2inches of your sand on the top of the gravel and level up again as usual Now, it is the turn off adding stones. Place the flagstones as neatly and close as possible with adequate sand to fill up the gap in between. Get some amount of the builder’s sand and pour just over the composition already made. This can be about two handfuls.

Use your broom now to smoothen the mixture until cracks are not visible. Pour some water from the hose to make a cementing of your composition using the broom and other materials to make the solid form Your patio is ready! Set your patio beautifully with chairs and dining to start enjoying your outdoor experience in your diy patio design.
